Transformative methodology

Our interventions are rooted in methodological principles designed to transform the life conditions of young people through holistic and sustainable economic empowerment. Central to our approach are two methodologies: the Freirian Methodology, which emphasizes the transformative power of education to 'read the world' and reshape it, and the Active Learning Methodology, which fosters experiential learning through 'learning by doing.' MUVA applies a gender lens to these methodologies, acknowledging the deep-rooted power dynamics that shape societal roles and individual identities. We create spaces for reflection, dialogue, and learning, enabling young people—especially women—to explore and redefine their positions in society. By integrating psychosocial support, our programs nurture self-esteem, self-awareness, and emotional resilience, empowering participants to confront and overcome challenges that hinder both professional and personal growth. The transformation we foster is both individual and collective. Through interactive activities, significant experiences, and guided mentorship, our 'agents of change' facilitate this journey. Participants gain not only technical and economic skills but also the mental and emotional tools to thrive in the face of adversity. This holistic approach ensures that socio-economic empowerment is deeply rooted in mental well-being and personal development. Our methodologies have been tested, refined, and adapted across diverse contexts, beginning in Mozambique and expanding through partnerships to Chad, Guinea Bissau, Malawi, and Brazil. By prioritizing psychosocial health and inclusive learning, we aim to inspire lasting change, equipping young people to lead fulfilling, self-determined lives.

INNER POWER SELF-CONFIDENCE OVERCOMING FEAR

Individual and group transformation involves developing self-esteem, self-knowledge, self-awareness and the ability to deal with and overcome problems that block professional and individual growth.

Handbooks for practitioners

We believe that restricted knowledge is outdated knowledge. A fundamental part of our DNA is sharing and collaborating. We hope that everyone working for female economic empowerment can start from a good place and not need to reinvent the wheel. This way, we can all evolve faster in this immense challenge.
